Hi, I’m Claire 👋 I’m the artist behind Wtf Illustration, creating hand-painted watercolour magic for people, places, parties and all the moments worth remembering. From live illustration at weddings, balls, charity events, baby showers and celebrations, to paintings of favourite places, buildings, wedding memories and completely bespoke commissions — if it means something to you, I’d love to paint it. Live Illustration Weddings might be where you’ve seen me before, but I don’t just paint weddings! I bring live illustration to events, celebrations and parties, painting guests as the day unfolds. It’s entertainment, a talking point and a unique keepsake all rolled into one. Buildings & Favourite Places Some places just mean more. I paint wedding venues, first homes, favourite holiday spots, pubs, businesses and all those places attached to a brilliant memory. They make gorgeous gifts and keepsakes, and are also a lovely way for estate agents to celebrate a sale and give clients something they’ll actually keep. Bespoke Greeting Cards This is where Wtf began back in 2018. I started with personalised watercolour cards and they’re still a big part of what I do. Birthdays, weddings, new homes, thank-yous or just because — I turn your favourite people, places and memories into a card that’s completely unique. Bespoke Commissions And then there are all the things that don't quite fit into a box! I paint wedding photos after the big day, special moments, favourite places, pets, family memories and pretty much anything you’d love to see in watercolour. They make brilliant gifts for couples, anniversaries, new homes and special occasions — or sometimes you just want a beautiful painting of something that means a lot to you. Basically, if it matters to you, I’d love to paint it.

I’ve been creating art for more than 30 years, starting with studying at art college and then building a career in design. Somewhere along the way, I fell completely in love with watercolour — and now I get to spend my days painting people, places and the moments that matter. And honestly? I feel pretty bloody lucky. Everything I create is hand-painted by me, in my loose, modern and slightly characterful style. No two people, weddings or stories are the same, so I don’t want my illustrations to be either. I’m always happy to tailor things to make sure they feel properly yours. Whether I’m mingling with your guests and painting them live, turning your venue into a keepsake, or capturing a favourite moment on paper, my aim is simple: Make people smile. Paint something worth keeping. And add a little Wtf watercolour magic along the way. ✨ If you’re looking for something a bit different, a bit personal and definitely not your standard wedding favour, I’d bloody love to paint it.

I booked Claire's live illustration package last minute and I am thrilled she had our date available! We booked the head and shoulders portraits and Claire was able to complete a portrait of just over 60 people in this package and added travel and a full length portrait of ourselves for a very reasonable price! Claire is a fabulous artist who produces gorgeous illustrated portraits with attention to detail and a fun and quirky flair. I messaged Claire with a few reference photos and asked if she could create two custom portraits: one with a festival vibe of a friend angle grinding on a guitar and one of a close friends wedding (including their fluffy ring bearer). Claire’s responses were quick and informative. She made sure to show me the outlines of the portraits, and double checked key details such as outfits/glasses/faces to ensure the pictures were just right. The final portraits are exactly what I wanted and will be fantastic gifts! Be sure to book her for your receptions and events!

I've saw that Wtf illustrations had recently attended a wedding to do illustrations for the wedding party at the venue i got married at. I immediately loved her prints and thought they looked really cool! I contacted Wtf illustrations to enquire if they could do some prints of our wedding photos. Claire was prompt with her response and very friendly. I wanted some additions to family photos which Claire was able to do. The prints are unique and quirky with lots of detail. They are another momentum of our wedding which we will treasure. I also requested prints for some of our guests who I know will love them as much as I do.
